3rd Quarter Newsletter 2011

Since our last Newsletter in July we have been to the Mad Quilters Expo in Penrith, met with quilters in Hawthorn, Buxton and Camberwell.

Leonies Quilt " Epsilon Auriga" took out first prize in Melbourne at the Victorian Quilters Showcase 2011 in the "Anything Goes" Category. Pictured in our Gallery Page.

In this Newsletter:

* How to break down quilt blocks

* Some New Patterns

* A New Tumbler Stash Buster Template to suit Charm Packs

While our products are available directly from us, I would encourage you, where possible to buy from Patchwork Stores stocking our products. If you are unsure where to get them, please drop us email and we will get back to you with a location of the nearest supplier.

If you have any questions about our products or just want to comment, please drop us an email, we do like to hear from you.

Breaking Down the Block

I have had a lot of questions about blocks and how to resize them. In this Newsletter, my article, "Breaking Down the Blocks" should answer those questions. Whether you are new to quilting or have had some difficulty in the past resizing some pattern blocks, there is something for you.

It can be viewed on our web site by clicking here (take me to the article), or

You can download it by clicking the right mouse button on the following icon and saving it to your hard drive.

You can print it by clicking the left mouse button on the icon above opening the pdf file.

New Patterns

Williams Wish by Jennifer Rooney and Leonie West

Williams Quilt

This beautiful Quilt was designed by Jennifer for her father, William.
The Quilt measure 64 1/2" x 64 1/2"

Set on point, the centre star block rests in a checker board, surrounded by log cabin blocks.

Jennifer used the 18" Adjustable Ruler, the Quarter Square Triangle and the Epsilon Star Setter from our range of products. The Pattern is available from our Patterns Page.

Disappearing Hourglass by Leonie West

This Quilt uses our 18” Adjustable Ruler and the 2” to 6” Adjustable Half Square Triangle.
The Finished Quilt measures 58 1/2” x 58 1/2”

The pattern also comes with a DVD

The Quilt is ideal for anyone, including beginners. There are a couple of different layout suggestions with the pattern which is available from our Patterns Page .

Stash Buster - Charm Tumbler Set

We have added a new Tumbler Set to our range and have called it the "Charm Tumbler Set". It was designed to be used with the 5" Charm Squares or 5" Strips.

The Tumbler Set comes with the half tool to finish off the rows and will make a 4 1/2" finished unit.

The set is available and can viewed on our Stash Buster page

We will be heading off to Western Australia in October and up to Central New South Wales. I will give out details as soon as they are finalised.

Our Sampler Quilt is going so well, now over 15,600 pattern downloads. I am so looking forward to seeing the quilts made with these blocks.

We have a whole new project that will be releasing early next year, the samples being done by Leonie are fabulous.
